Recipe: Sloppy Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

Quick and easy dinner with ground beef

Grilled cheese, a staple food item when it comes to humans. Easy, quick, filling...and c'mon, it's practically fried cheese!

What's better than cheese and bread? Adding meat of course :) Unless you're a vegetarian, then I've probably offended your senses, sorry!

This sweet and savory meal is just as easy to whip up as a regular grilled cheese sandwich, but much more filling and will please your tastebuds wanting more.

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ¼ cup chopped onion
  • 2 tbs honey Dijon mustard
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbs Worchestershire sauce
  • Texas toast bread
  • Butter
  • 3-4 cups shredded cheese

  1. Brown ground beef with onion in skillet until fully cooked. Drain off any grease.
  2. Add mustard, ketchup and brown sugar and Worchestershire. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.

  4. To assemble sandwiches, place on slice of bread, butter side down onto skillet. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese, a scoop of the beef mixture, and top with some more shredded cheese. Place a piece of bread on top, butter side up. Cook over medium heat until browned, carefully flip over and cook the other side until browned.

See, not too difficult even for the novice cook :)

Happy cooking!
